Often times during natural disasters, we are met with some sort of damage or flooding in the Lowcountry. Unfortunately; Hurricanes, storms, or even just high tide can leave behind flooded homes, businesses and vehicles.
While we can’t assist you in all of your repair efforts, there is one thing we do well – we can help help lighten your burden by handling your vehicle’s insurance claim and restoring your damaged vehicle. Due to the time consuming process of working with insurance companies and the time it takes to properly clean, sanitize and dry these vehicles, it may be necessary for you to have a rental vehicle while we complete the job. Thankfully, many insurance companies may cover this cost.
In order to properly eliminate water and prevent mold from forming in your vehicle, we follow a very particular process that will remove water and sanitize the interior. With the use of a hot water extractor, true vapor steam cleaner, a dehumidifier and an ozone generator, we meticulously clean every surface of the vehicle. We remove trim panels, seats and even a partial or complete removal of the carpet as necessary. We make sure there is no water left behind, which reduces the risk of odors and mildew from coming back. What’s more is the dehumidifier that we place in the vehicle will remain with it after you pick it up and can be removed after a few days.
First, we start by suctioning up all of the water from the floor boards and seats, including removing any debris. We then assess the damage that is done and place a quote together for you and your insurance company. Next, we order the appropriate replacement parts, clean and sanitize the items that can be restored, dry the entire interior out and place a dehumidifier inside the vehicle. Next, after the dehumidifier removes the humidity from the vehicle and the interior is 100% dry, we place the ozone generator in the vehicle which will eliminate any mold, mildew or bacteria in the air, which may cause you and your passengers to become sick.
The end result will be a clean, dry vehicle ready for the road.
If you have driven your vehicle and it stalled out in a flooded roadway, we recommend having it taken to the mechanical service center of your choice for assessment. Major damage may occur when driving through deep water. If your insurance company needs a total quote, including cleaning out the interior flood damage, we can set up a time to come and assess your vehicle and provide a quote on the spot. If the insurance company determines it is a repairable vehicle, they will give approvals to the mechanical service center and to us, allowing the vehicle to be repaired. If they determine it is not repairable, they will deal with you directly to pay out your claim.
